One is chance, twice is happenstance. Three times is enemy action.

fucking assholes, the New Class started in 1962, but I would love to see ANY pre '02 model on the road no matter who was driving it. BTW hipster classics guys, the 15/16/18/2000 4 doors are not 2002's. Where does this come from anyhow?

That's too mainstream, Hipsters drive E21s son.

40 years of Volvo? They've done nothing to deserve such a moniker.

To be fair hipsters drive a crap ton of old Volvos, and I'm saying that as a 140, 240, 740, 940, and p1800 fan.

Another point to them is this Volvo for sale in Brooklyn.

I don't know, I think their site is pretty good. Not too many sites like this that actually cater to enthusiasts.

I just wish it was fact checked so enthusiasts don't have to call them out on errors. difference between a w124 wagon and a 190 is pretty big. Especially since there was no w201 wagon. Site isn't bad, just needs someone with knowledge editing it

I've been referred to as a hipster for driving my Renault LeCar and also back when I had a Gremlin. It didn't help that I haven't bought new clothes in 25 years. It never bothered me, though. I figure it just means they're jealous that I'm cooler than they are.
I don't agree that the 190 or the SEL are hipster cars. Nor the Vanagon, really, since it's too practical. The others I see. Especially Volvos. It's hip to be square as they say.

I was expecting '1981 Hipster Volvo 260'. Goddamnit, I love it. Am I a hipster? I have a beard and look like a lumberjack most of the time... braces 'n all.

Ordinarily one only hears the word "hipster" in a snide, deprecatory tone of voice, but these guys seem to be saying "These 'hipsters' sure do have excellent taste in classic cars."

I'm kindof ok with calling 240's hipster but to lump every pre 90's volvo together as well as all pre 90's Saabs, it's a bit much. I love me some 142 rally cars.
Admit it, everyone wants a 142 rally car.

In rally guise it's not so hipstery. The most hipster person I know drives a beautiful 164, so that biases me for Volvos.

That 164 isn't.

Damn, I'm a hipster... I have not one, but two Volvos that fall into that timespan.. (A '66 122 wagon and a '86 740 sedan, for the record.. And I'm looking for either a 740/760/940 Turbo wagon or a 95+ 960/V90 wagon to go with them.) And a beard... And I used to have vintage browline glasses, before they were cool.
Also, also, this was me, just two years ago:

I think they need to give any volvo owners who are members on turbobricks a pass.

Agreed... And on that note, I get a pass, so... I've been a member on TB ever since I dragged my first turbo 740 out of a field and flogged the hell out of it.

Lame. I've owned 4 of those, and still have 2. The 2002 especially does not deserve this.

I /finally/ updated the build thread for my current 744, last night.. Nothing that hasn't been posted on Oppo already, but still... Anyway, my username on there is "darksider415", if you want to find my old build threads.
There's a $500 765T down in Texas someone posted last night, that makes me wish I wasn't a responsible adult who pays his bills on time, and/or that I could have my tax return in hand. Either that, or the $900 '95 965 I found on CL in Austin... Maybe I need to start putting the pressure on the guys I did some consulting work on the side for, to get the check in hand, so I can take a Texas road trip and pick up another wagon.

Last time I nearly did that dude sold the car out from under me on Friday when I was about to leave on Saturday to pick it up. I even offered a deposit to hold it.
